Welling is a leading UK distributor of ironmongery and architectural hardware suitable for a range of commercial installations including education settings such as schools, colleges and universities for both glass and timber doors.

We stock a large range of products that have been designed and tested to adhere to UK and European standards. Our understanding of the demands and requirements needed within educational environments helps us keep safety and durability at the forefront of your project. This includes FD30 and FD60 fire ratings and BS 8300 British standards to meet the needs of those with disabilities.

Welling has a variety of products with different finishes depending on your style or practicality choices. The most popular is stainless steel, aluminum and Nylon door hardware. Our products are competitively priced and being a small and dynamic company, it means we can respond to your needs quickly with next day delivery on a large range of in stock products across the UK.

Nylon products are a great fit within the educational sector, being low maintenance and highly durable, along with conforming to the DDA requirements for 'warm to touch' and 'visual contrast’ with great light reflective values. From lever handles and pull handles to bathroom turns and push plates, a variety of colours are available, including; black, blue, green, grey and white. We can provide a complete set of ironmongery products for installation on projects in education settings.

Our intumescent fire door products have been extensively tested to meet British Standards. When selecting the right seal and door hardware, it is essential you follow the fire door manufacturer’s instructions. To ensure you comply with the latest UK Construction products directive, all fire doors should be fitted with hinges that are fire rated, which means they need to be CE marked.

Here at Welling, we stock a range of different intumescent kits and seals in various sizes and lengths to suit the project you are working on. Many of these products are Certifire approved along with tested fire ratings for FD30 or FD60 standards. You will find this information regarding products on the website, datasheets or in the brochure and you can speak with a member of the team for further details.

Welling supplies a range of ironmongery door hardware to education settings but we also have a variety of washroom fittings and toilet hardware. Jumbo toilet roll holders, wall mounted soap dispensers and paper towel dispensers available in stainless steel or black finishes are among the products. Our large stock volumes means we have several items readily available that can be sent out with next day delivery across the UK.

Finding the right locking cylinder system for each educational setting can be challenging. We are here to help and will discuss each project's ironmongery requirements, from school classrooms to university campus buildings, providing you with the necessary tools depending on your desired security level.

The versatility of cylinder locks is a major reason for their wide adoption, allowing users to combine different locks throughout the same building while achieving complex lock setups.

Euro cylinder locks are the most common profile design. Any Euro cylinder fits through a suitable Euro profile lock case, giving many options of finish, suiting and key or turn access. Below, you can find each key type explained to help navigate the locking system you need.

Each lock has its own key, so you can't use the same key to open a different lock.

This refers to several locks, each operated by the same key.

This is the simplest form of master keying. Each individual lock is operated by its own unique key, and a control (or master) key operates all the locks in the suite. Ideal for large office or shop premises where multiple key holders are needed.

A control key which operates a particular number of locks that are grouped into two or more suites. The individual keys will operate the individual locks, while the master keys will operate a selection of the individual locks with the grand master key operating all locks.

How we are improving our carbon footprint

It is important to us at Welling to continue working on reducing the carbon footprint and finding environmentally friendly alternatives for the packaging we are sending out each day and finding repurposed uses for different materials.

We are working on reducing our plastic use as many non-degradable plastics are polluting our oceans and countryside, with tonnes of waste accumulating at landfill sites it is important to find an alternative. Bubble wrap film has been layered between fragile items and used to fill voids in boxes but this is not a sustainable material and we have found a new alternative.
